Drapery hangs in vertical folds and opens across the window. The fabric, lining, and panel size determine how much light it filters and how the panels look when open or closed.

Drapery

How they work

Panels move across the opening

The panels travel along their hardware and gather beside the glass when opened. The layout needs room for this gathered fabric.

Fabric controls the coverage

Sheer fabric filters daylight with a view through. Denser fabric or a lining increases coverage and can reduce light entering the room.

Your selections

Options for your windows

We’ll help you compare the options during your in-home consultation.

Fabric & lining

Compare sheer and room-darkening fabrics, plus linen-series fabrics with unlined, light-filtering, or blackout-lining choices.

Rod or track

Rod-style and track-style systems are available. We’ll review the hardware, mounting height, finished length, and space needed for the open panels.

Motorized controls

Motorized drapery systems can move the panels by remote or compatible smart control. Power requirements depend on the rod or track system selected.

Common questions

Ask about your windows
Can drapery cover a sliding glass door?

It can. We’ll measure the opening and plan the panel stack so you can reach the door handle and use the doorway.

Do sheer curtains provide privacy at night?

Sheers allow a view through and should not be relied on for nighttime privacy. A denser fabric, lining, or separate privacy layer may be needed.

Does blackout lining block all light in the room?

It blocks light through the lined fabric. Light can still enter above, below, at the sides, or where panels meet, so panel coverage and mounting are important.
